Care home’s community tea party supports Dementia UK

Newfield Lodge care home in Castleford will make ‘Time for a Cuppa’ on 7th March by hosting an event to raise money for Dementia UK. The home will be throwing open its doors to the local community for a tea party, providing hot drinks and home-made cakes from its award winning chef.

There will also be the opportunity for a good old natter whilst local vocalists Christopher and the Robins entertain, and all for a very worthy cause.

Dementia UK offers specialist one-to-one support and expert advice for people living with dementia, and the ‘Time for a Cuppa’ week runs from 1st 8th March.

Regional Director for Ideal Carehomes, Paul Fletcher, said: “Everyone is really excited about this event we always have loads going on but you can’t beat a slice of cake and a cuppa, especially when it is for such a good cause. Our residents really enjoy meeting new people and are delighted to invite guests to their beautiful homes.”

The Town Mayor and Mayoress will be attending along with Richard Forster, District Councillor for the Castleford area.
