Taking place on 29th November 2018 at the magnificent Haberdashers’ Hall in London, the Care Home and Hospital Catering Forum is set to be the must-attend event of the year. Delegate places are limited, so be sure to confirm your attendance early to avoid disappointment.
The theme of this one-day event is The Power of Food, with content focusing on how to boost the health and wellbeing of vulnerable individuals through good nutrition and hydration.
A full programme of inspirational speakers and live cooking demonstrations will address the most important issues affecting the catering provision within care homes and hospitals. Industry experts and senior executives will share key knowledge and best practice through a series of presentations that explore the challenges of meeting the individual needs of those in a care environment.
Topics to be covered include providing optimum nutritional care for people with diminished appetites; making food and the dining experience more appealing; the importance of hydration and how to avoid the consequences of poor hydration; catering for the nutritional needs of individuals requiring a free-from diet; career development and training your team; and the impact of nutrition on cognitive and general health.
The programme features a keynote address from Dr Liz Jones, who is an expert in the patient environment across the health and social care sectors, a case study from one of the UK’s leading care home providers, and a panel debate based on the issues raised during the day, featuring industry experts from the NACC and HCA. In addition to the speaker presentations there will be live cooking demonstrations as well as a targeted exhibition, enabling delegates to engage face-to-face with key suppliers.
The Forum will also see the winners of the inaugural Care Home Catering Awards announced. Seeking to recognise and reward best practice in delivering person-centred nutritional care, these awards are open to catering managers, chefs and kitchen teams working throughout the residential care sector. So, if your care home has entered one or more of the categories, all the more reason to attend!
