NACC launches specialist Training Academy

The National Association of Care Catering (NACC) has launched the NACC Training Academy to strengthen its support of its members and the care catering sector.

Neel Radia, the NACC’s National Chair, officially launched the progressive, ongoing training programme during his opening address to the NACC Training & Development Forum 2018 on 4th October.

Specifically designed for the care catering sector, the new initiative is a relevant mix of NACC-endorsed courses, delivered by experts via training workshops and webinars, that will support the association’s members and care catering professionals in the workplace.

The first courses to be delivered as part of the NACC Training Academy take place at Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Birmingham, on 20th and 21st November 2018. The important topics being covered are: International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI): How to manage choking risks and meet your IDDSI obligations (20th November); Managing staff performance (20th November); CQC: Providing outstanding nutritional care and complying with CQC standards (21st November); and How to manage a team of chefs with effective communication (21st November).

The NACC Training Academy will deliver further specialist care catering courses across the country and these will include allergens, texture modification, fortification, dementia and dysphagia. The four full-day courses in November are available to NACC members at the discounted price of £150+VAT. The NACC Training Academy is also open to non-members at £220+VAT, with one year’s membership of the NACC included in the price.
