Runwood Homes has organised an egg-citing Easter competition for a selection of its care homes and their local communities, to support intergenerational engagement.
Running from 8th to 21st April, the competition aim is to provide a great activity for children to take part in during the Easter holidays out of the home, which creates interest and physical activity for the care home residents, and helps establish or reinforce great community links and relationships.
Residents at seven of Runwood Homes’ residential care homes across the UK have been busy in their creative activity sessions, decorating a handful of rocks in bright, colourful designs in preparation for the Easter hunt competition.
Children and their families within the neighbourhoods of the care homes taking part are invited to venture out into their local areas for an egg-cellent adventure over the Easter school holiday break, searching for the residents’ hidden rocks. Five hand decorated #EasterRocks can be found in the local communities of each of the care homes taking part.
The lucky Easter Rock finders are invited to exchange their discoveries for a chocolate Easter egg prize at their local care home location. The competition will also unfold in social media posts on Runwood’s Facebook Page using the hashtag #EasterRocks with winners’ photos being posted with their prizes.
