Food for Life has announced the finalists for the Food for Life Served Here and Green Kitchen Standard Awards in this, the 10th anniversary year.
The awards – which include a category for Healthcare – celebrate the exceptional people and food providers who are making a difference and inspiring others through sustainable catering frameworks.
The awards are across 11 categories, including sector Champion awards for Early Years, Schools, Further and Higher Education, Independent Schools, Healthcare, Restaurants, Events and Leisure, Workplace, Green Kitchen Standard and Supplier Scheme, plus awards for Excellence at Silver and Gold and Innovation in Customer Engagement.
The winners will be announced at the awards celebration on 15th November at London’s Living Room, City Hall, and will be a chance to raise a glass to the people who are serving thousands of healthy, nutritious meals across the country every day. The event will bring many industry professionals together, with words of encouragement written by His Royal Highness Prince of Wales. Prue Leith CBE will deliver a welcome speech and assist in presenting the awards.
The judges are looking for people and food providers with an outstanding commitment to embedding the Food for Life Served Here standards, who are going above and beyond in sourcing and serving healthy food that’s better for the environment and made with sustainable practise in mind.
The finalists for the 2019 Food for Life Served Here Healthcare Champion Award are: Carl Stevenson at Bondcare – Summerfield House Nursing Home; Gary Wilkins at North Bristol NHS Trust – Southmead Hospital; and Neil Thompson at Abbeyfield Society.
