Call for care homes to get creative

Care homes are being invited to enter a biscuit decorating competition that will see the winning home receive an afternoon tea package worth up to £1,000.

As part of the McVitie’s Tasties Biscuit Decorating Competition, which launches on the 10th August, residents must create a biscuit masterpiece that is inspired by a memory.

Care homes will have up until the 30th October to submit entries, and the winner will be announced in the week commencing 2nd November.

The competition is being organised by pladis, the global snacking company behind brands including McVitie’s and Jacob’s, and the National Activities Providers Association (NAPA). It forms part of a wider care home activities pack that has been designed to boost happiness.

“We’ve partnered with NAPA to create a series of biscuit themed activities and a competition that we hope will bring a smile and provoke some happy memories among residents,” says Scott Snell, vice president sales, UK & Ireland, at pladis. “It’s simple to take part; homes just need to choose a theme, decorate their biscuit and share a photo with us along with a short message about why the theme was chosen.”
