As the Care Home & Hospital Catering Forum draws near, we’re ready to roll out our line-up of speakers. Collectively providing industry advice, case studies and insight, each speaker brings their own sector-specific knowledge and experience with them. Whether it’s a hospital or a care background, we’ ll be covering topics across the industry.

Andy Politi and Jo Instone, NHS England

Andy Politi is the first National Development Chef for NHS England. He has over 20 years of professional catering experience, ranging from fine dining to large scale cruise ships, sports and performance nutrition, preventive medicine, digital health, food manufacturing, meal prep and food development.

Leni Wood, Nellsar Care

Leni Wood is Head of Nutrition and Wellness at Nellsar, a family-run group of 13 care homes. Leni works with the catering departments across all homes and provides personalised assessments and meal plans for residents, raising nutritional standards across the group. While leading a team of Nutrition Champions, building links with care catering organisations and ensuring Nellsar consistently improves, Leni is very proud to be part of such a hardworking wellness team.

Sue Cawthray, The NACC

Sue Cawthray, national chair of the NACC, has worked in the elderly sector for over 26 years. Specialising in dementia, nutrition and hydration, Sue believes that it is paramount that older people are provided the best possible service where they live well with dignity, respect and choice.

Professional Bodies, HCA

HCA Healthcare has been providing healthcare for more than 50 years. It began with a small hospital, Park View Hospital, founded by doctors, in Nashville, U.S. In 1995 HCA entered the UK healthcare market, and has since built a world-class network of over 30 facilities in London and Manchester, with its latest venture opening in Birmingham in 2023.

Neil Russell, PJ Care

Neil Russell is the chairman of PJ Care and spent 12 years travelling the world before changing career to take over being a provider of specialist neurological nursing care. After 21 years in the care sector Neil has an innate knowledge of what is important to those in his care. 

Larry Rosenthal, Royal Free Hospital

Larry Rosenthal has more than 45 years’ experience at all levels of catering. Beginning as a kitchen porter, waiter, chef, manager and restaurant owner, Larry has more recently led NHS catering teams in multiple Trusts and is currently catering manager at The Royal Free Hospital.

Alex Connell & Amanda Woodvine, Vegetarian for Life

Amanda Woodvine joined Vegetarian for Life in 2009, as one of its trustees. She is now the charity's Chief Executive and, outside of work, Vice Chair of a charity supporting people with dementia.

Alex Connell has been a vegetarian for the past 30 years, 10 of which as a vegan. Most recently, Alex was the Principal Tutor at The Vegetarian Society Cookery School. In 2019, Alex joined the team of chefs working for Vegetarian for Life.

Lynsey Penny, WRAP

Lynsey Penny has over 20 years in the industry within operational roles and is a sector specialist within WRAP’s UK Hospitality and Food Service team delivering the bespoke campaign for the sector, Guardians of Grub part of the Courtauld Commitment 2030, and UK Food Waste Reduction Roadmap.

Simon Billing, Eating Better

Simon Billing is executive director of Eating Better, a movement for change of 60 organisations working to accelerate the transition from producing and eating too much meat and dairy to a fairer, healthier and more sustainable food system. Simon joined Eating Better in 2018 from Forum for the Future where he successfully led Protein Challenge 2040.

Militsa Pribetich-Gill, Sodexo

Militsa Pribetich-Gill  has worked in an acute NHS Trust for 5 years to improve the patient and staff experience, as well as being part of the team setting up the Nightingale in Bristol. She combines her industry knowledge and frontline experience in her current role of Head of Product Innovation at Sodexo Health & Care.
