Frome Nursing Home Celebrates World Ice Cream Day

The home’s residents and care team all enjoyed an afternoon that was decadently devoted to sweet indulgence!

In order to mark the recent World Ice Cream Day, residents at Frome Nursing Home enjoyed their own bespoke celebration in the form of an afternoon that was dedicated to sweet indulgence.

Cassie and Kat organised a personalised Frome Nursing Home ice cream ‘stall’, offering classic vanilla ice cream with a choice of different toppings, such as chocolate or strawberry syrups, together with various cakes bearing Ice Cream Day decorations, which perfectly complemented the other sweet treats on offer.

However, it soon transpired that server Kat would be well-advised not to apply for a job in an ice cream parlour, as according to Home Manager Becky Press, the majority of the chocolate sauce ended up on her hand rather than the ice cream!

Despite this all of the residents enjoyed the day with Vicky Hughes, the wife of resident David, saying:  "It's been a lovely afternoon. David hasn’t had an ice cream cornetto for ages and you can tell that he’s really enjoyed the whole experience by the size of his smile!”

Celebrating fun events such as World Ice Cream Day is just one of the many activities that Frome Nursing Home provides for residents, thus offering them the opportunity to bond with team members and enhance the home’s sense of community, while also enjoying a enjoying delicious sweet treats too!
