Resident's belated birthday gift from Sir Rod Stewart
Care home resident Maud bumped into singer Sir Rod Stewart on an outing into town.

A care home resident received a special 100th birthday gift when she enjoyed a cup of tea with Sir Rod Stewart.
While on an outing into town, Ashlyn Care Home, in Harlow, Essex, resident Maud and team member Toni spotted the singer, before approaching him and asking if he would sit with Maud for a cup of tea for a belated 100th birthday gift.
Rod agreed and the pair had a cup of tea and a chat outside a local coffee shop.
The home, run by Excelcare, says it was a magical moment for Maud, with Rod hearing about her recent birthday and giving her a signed picture as an extra treat.
