Care Home Open Week gets under way

Care Home Open Week will run from 27th June to 3rd July.

A week which encourages care homes to build long-lasting relationships with their communities, while boosting recruitment opportunities, is now under way.

Care Home Open Week returns from 27th June to 3rd July, with homes running events in person and virtually. Homes can show off their facilities and activities programmes, or share news of career opportunities in the sector.

Some are inviting communities in for tea, cake and a catch-up, while others are hosting events with live music or simply showing how they improve residents' quality of life.

Professor Martin Green OBE, chief executive of Care England, says: “Care Home Open Week is a real opportunity for care services to champion their work and to enable local communities to understand the important role social care plays in supporting residents and their families.

"After two years of Covid-19 lockdowns, this week represents an opportunity for care homes to show what they have to offer their communities by exhibiting their outstanding care, facilities, activities, and workforce. This Care Home Open Week let’s celebrate everything that makes care homes special and break down barriers by encouraging the public to build connections with their local care services.”
