Fresh thinking, fresh approach
The names of the first three speakers at the Care Home Catering Forum 2024 are announced
For Care Home Caterers who relish the opportunity to network with their peers, catch up with the latest food trends and swap experiences and ideas, while also challenging themselves to learn something new, this year’s Care Home Catering Forum is a must-attend event!
Flying solo for the first time, this year’s Care Home Catering Forum will take place on Wednesday 5th June at Farmers & Fletchers Hall in the City of London, a modern, purpose-built conference venue, which is easily accessible from the Barbican, St. Paul’s, Moorgate and Farringdon underground tube stations.
The one-day event will feature a selection of inspiring speakers drawn from across the care catering sector, all of whom will reveal how they have taken a fresh approach when designing menus, preparing, cooking and serving food in order to deliver the best possible dining experience to care home residents.
There will be regular refreshment breaks throughout the day, which will not only enable delegates to mingle with friends and colleagues but will also provide the opportunity for them to browse the accompanying dedicated exhibition, which will feature some of the sector’s leading suppliers, who will be showing their latest products and innovations.
The first three speakers have already been revealed as:
Neel Radia, who took over as chair of the National Association of Care Home Caterers last October and will be providing an update on the reorganisation of the NACC regions and unveiling the assocation’s aims and plans for 2024 and beyond.
Rachael Masters, a consultant dietitian and the founder of Focus on Undernutriton, who has focused on the nutritional needs of the elderly throughout her 28-year career. Rachael’s talk, entitled: ‘Undernutrition and dysphagia’ will share her thoughts as to how this can best be managed within a care home setting.
Paul Mannering, a chef and educator who is the principal of the HiT Chef Academy will deliver a presentation entitled: ‘Food for thought: hydration and nutrition’ that will focus on his twin passions of inspiring the next generation of chefs and of finding new and more sustainable ways of producing delicious food that also delivers optimal nutrition.
We will be introducing further new speakers on the Care Home Catering website during the run up to the event.
Of course, one of the big attractions of the Forum is that the day will culminate in the announcement of the winners of this year’s Care Home Catering Awards. Following a record number of entries, there are five nominees for each of the five awards, the winners of which will be announced during a special presentation ceremony.
