Nominations for Care Home Catering Awards 2025 are open!

The competition is designed to recognise not just the worthy winners, but also to celebrate all of those who work so diligently within the care catering sector

As the festive season approaches, it is once again time to invite nominations for the Care Home Catering Awards 2025

No one would ever pretend that working within the care catering sector is easy. The responsibility of providing myriad meals every day for residents, some of whom also have a wide range of medical conditions and specialist dietary needs, as well as the highly individual food preferences that we all share, requires unwavering levels of creativity, skill and enthusiasm.

Accordingly, the 2025 edition of the Care Home Catering Awards competition, which offers five different categories, is designed to recognise not just the worthy winners, but also to serve as a celebration of everyone who works so diligently to ensure that care home residents enjoy the best possible dining experience and the highest level of nutrition.

The winners will be revealed at the Care Home Catering Forum that will take place on 5th June next year and nominations are now open. Whether you work with a talented chef whose innovation in the kitchen is inspiring, a kitchen assistant who works hard to ensure optimal efficiency, or a catering team that is setting a new industry standard, please nominate them so they can be in with a chance of winning.

Care Home Catering editor, Val Hirst explains: “These awards offer an opportunity to honour the efforts of all those who are helping to keep residents happy and healthy, in whatever capacity they may be working, while also continuing to raise both the standard and status of care catering generally.“

The 2024 winners, who are pictured above with their trophies, included Chef of the Year Adriano Goncalves De Carvalho of Newbury Court Care Home, while Stuart Jones of the Royal Variety Charity at Twickenham, scooped the Independent Care Home Caterer of the Year award. The Care Catering Team of the Year went to the team at Britten Court in Lowestoft and Meallmore was named as the Group Care Home Caterer of the Year. Finally the Above and Beyond Award was presented to a delighted Manda Bracegirdle of Happy Homes Services Essex.

Who will win in 2025?

Do you know someone whose level of commitment deserves wider appreciation?  If so, please do nominate them!  Remember, they have to be in it to win it!
