Jon Sharp has joined Meiko UK as specification manager, a role in which he will oversee Meiko’s growing business in the care and protect sectors.

“The appointment of Jon Sharp brings extensive experience in sales leadership and business development in the catering sector. His leadership and visionary approach will be instrumental in driving growth in these two critical sectors for Meiko,” says Meiko UK MD Paul Anderson.

“I am delighted that Jon has taken the role of assisting us further in these valued sectors. He has such an exemplary background that it made perfect sense to absorb so much from someone's expertise in further driving brand recognition. We are happy to welcome him into our Meiko family.”

Sharp is working alongside David Bentley, specification manager for Meiko Green and Mick Jary, specification director at Meiko UK.

He brings a wealth of experience to his new role. With over 35 years of industry experience, Sharp has demonstrated his passion and expertise in sales leadership and business development in the catering sector. His decade-long tenure as a key member of Hilton's leadership team in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, where he played a pivotal role in driving substantial F&B brand growth for Hampton by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn, is a testament to his leadership skills.

Commenting on his new role, Sharp says: “I am thrilled to work for Paul and Meiko UK as the new specification manager for the protect and care division. This role offers an incredible chance to further elevate our outstanding product solutions for the essential services that support our communities. It is both an honour and a significant responsibility to contribute to solutions that truly impact the lives of those who protect and care for others.”

The UK care sector is currently undergoing a significant transformation. It is moving from disposables to reusables, a change that is not only beneficial for the environment but also crucial for ensuring staff safety in the workplace. Meiko washer disinfectors, with their hands-free operation and fail-safe hygiene, are instrumental in achieving staff safety and total hygiene for care homes and hospitals during this transformative period.
