Residents sample local ales for National Beer Day

Residents at Hugh Myddleton House marked National Beer Day.

Residents at a Barchester care home sampled British ales and raised a toast to mark National Beer Day.

Staff at Hugh Myddleton House care home, in Southgate, helped residents celebrate the day on 15th June by bringing in a range of British ales.

They enjoyed a beer tasting in the garden, learnt about the history of beer and took part in a beer-themed quiz.

Ramona Stanciu, general manager at the home, said: “We love socialising and celebrating all kind of events. It is wonderful now that we can invite family and friends into our garden to join in events. National Beer Day is a day that the residents really enjoy - who doesn’t enjoy a cold beer on a summer’s day?"

Charles, a resident at the home, added: “I didn’t realise we had so many lovely local ales, it was lovely to enjoy a cold beer in the garden with other residents."

Hugh Myddelton House is run by Barchester Healthcare.
