The announcement was made at the buying group’s recent annual ‘An Evening With’ event, which took place at Abbey Road Studios and celebrated the fantastic work of its members and suppliers over the past year.

Having worked in the foodservice industry for over 40 years, as the managing director of Creed Foodservice, director of the Country Range Group, ambassador of Hospitality Action and also in senior roles at both Booker and Bidfood, de Ternant (pictured above left) has become a leading and much respected figure in the foodservice sector.

Commenting on de Ternant’s appointment, CRG’s Chief Executive Martin Ward says: “We’re thrilled to reveal Philip has accepted the role as Group Chairman and I’m looking forward to working with him even more closely to ensure our family-run wholesalers can achieve faster and more profitable growth. He is a respected leader and a result driven, hugely experienced professional with a proven track record. I have no doubt his appointment as Chairman will be a huge asset to the Group.”

Philip de Ternant adds: “It’s a huge honour to be appointed the new CRG Group Chairman and I’m excited to get started and help our members continue to be as competitive as possible in this ever-changing and ever-challenging industry. I’ve been a board member at CRG for over 10 years now, so I already feel like part of the family, but I’m eager to work even more closely with the wider team and new members as we all work towards our future plans and ambitious goals.”
