Brakes to hold prices until October

Following Brake’s price holding initiative last year, Brakes has announced that it will be holding prices on 7,000 products between April and October 2024

Brakes, has announced that it is holding itsuntil October prices on more than 7,000 products as part of a programme to drive value to customers, thus providing stability and helping them to plan with certainty.

The company launched a major price holds initiative last year, where it held prices on more than 1,800 products, a move that received widespread positive feedback from customers. However, Brakes has now eclipsed that number with more than 7,000 prices being held between April and October 2024.

Paul Nieduszynski, CEO of Sysco GB, said: “From energy to staff costs, there is still a great deal of uncertainty around the costs that the industry is facing. These price holds provide some longer-term reassurance that will help our independent customers plan with a greater level of certainty.

“At the same time, we want to ensure that we offer our customers the best value, so we’ve looked at the products they buy most frequently and reduced the prices of many of the most popular products in the range.”

As part of the Spring campaign, Brakes is also cutting the price of everything from baked beans to bacon, chicken to crisps and is also including everyday items such as eggs. The products will see an average price reduction of 6%.

The price holds and price cuts are available to Brakes independent customers.
