Promoted: Creed navigates care homes through turbulent times

It seems that the relentless nature of the past 18 months is showing no signs of abating for the care sector. As we’re in winter months and a careful eye is being kept on Covid cases, the sector has been hard hit with staff shortages as a result of Brexit and the pandemic. In addition, as of 11 November all care home staff members have to be fully vaccinated, leading to further staff losses.

Relying on agency staff is expensive and results in ever-changing teams. Additional pressure that care home managers could do without.

Throughout the past nearly two years, Creed has been acutely aware of care homes’ need for their working partners to make all the other elements – such as food provision – as seamless as possible. For care homes, which operate 24/7, 365 days a year, shutting for a few days while stock comes in just isn’t an option.

Creed made strategic decisions early on to help care homes navigate through these turbulent times:

  • Adapted their delivery day frequency in line with customer needs
  • Planned ahead and enhanced driver numbers
  • Kept their Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) the same and not increased it, so their care home customers don’t have to budget for larger orders
  • Ensured the online ordering platform allows customers full visibility on live product availability, complete with allergen support, at the point of ordering

In the new year Creed will be announcing additional support initiatives for the care sector, so watch this space!
